Colour challenge @ The Outlawz

Good morning fellow bloggers
Tuesday again, I am sure some of the days just disappear in the week...but anyway it is another colour challenge over at the Outlawz.

This week it was the turn of 'yours truly' to choose the colours and inspirational picture, so I hope you will all come and join in the fun, with the twist being to use a letter of the alphabet on your card.

Our sponsor this month is  The Stamping Boutique, and the prize is the 3 digis used by the DT this month.

My card was made with a special friend in mind whose birthday was last week and I am pleased she really loved it.

The paper was from a pad with no name that I have, but was just right for this card. The border is a new Memory Box die...dummer border..and I think I'll use it often.
The sentiment was stamped onto an X-cut die, and the 'S' was cut from a cuttlebug die...I was lucky that it could be used as a scroll as well.
I added some bling, gems and pearls for sparkle.

The members of the DT have made gorgeous cards this week so please go and have a look at the ely cards they have made for inspiration, and we would love to have you join in with your creations.

I am going to enter some challenges:
Make it Monday...Anything goes
Eureka Stamps challenge...Anything goes
The crazy challenge blog..Anything goes
Krafty Hands blog...Bling it up

New releases at DS4J

Good morning friends,
Hope you are all enjoying a lovely weekend. Our weather is just great and that certainly makes for a lovely day.
Fantastic news at  Digistamps4Joy today.  New releases of a whole new range of images. Country Crafts in South Africa have given permission for their Janel range of stamps to be sold as digital images by DS4J, so please go and have a look for yourselves at the first of these lovely images to be released and some of the designs that  have been used by the DT members.

I have used one of the images, for my card. Now it's not a card one chooses to make, but they are needed from time to time...and I need some this week, so mine is a sympathy card with a lovely image.

I have coloured the image with Distress inks, cut out with a Nestability die. matted onto a New Marianne design paper.
Sentiment is from a local stamp company, finished off  with ribbon and pearls.
I will have a lot of use with this image, just changing colours

I will enter it in the following challenges:
Jackson's Digital Expressions/..Strutt your stuff

This is a particular favourite, going to a friend who loves baking.

DS4J goes Back to School

Good morning everyone and a happy Wednesday to you all,
Today at Digistamps4Joy the challenge is "Back to School" and it is team B to provide the inspiration, so I have a card for you. In South Africa, we start our school year in January, but I do have grandchildren that are all ready for the new year.

The image that I used is 'satchel'. I printed it out 3 times, once onto DP and cut it out paper pieced it onto the original image, and then coloured the satchel with distress inks, cut it out  and raised it with 3D dots. Cut a banner and wrote the sentiment with a white gel pen to give a blackboard effect.
The background paper is from a pad by Cart-us, and just loved the bright colours.

OK now it is your turn. If you have a look at the  challenge blog, the other members of the team have some awesome cards to show, and their are great prizes to win. You do not have to have a DS4J image to take part, but of course if you do use one, you get extra chances in the draw, and you might even be invited to be a guest designer....

Is it Fall already???

Goodday friends,
First;y I would like to welcome some new friends. So glad you have joined and hope you will pop back often and find some inspiration in what I have to show.

Not sure how the weather is in your part of the world, but we are having glorious..almost summer weather. Temp to day is 27deg C. The blossoms are out on the trees and it is a sure sign that spring is just around the corner....but I know only too well we will still have a bit of winter creeping in.

Tuesday at The Outlawz is Colour Challenge day and this week our Inspirational photo and colour palette was chosen by Margaret, with the "Awfully Hot Augsut" twist of adding fall bling to your project.

With fall being very far from our thoughts here in SA, I did manage to put together a card.

I placed my cuttlebug dies together in a square and cut out the leaves, then used this negative matting it onto the red. My ribbon was not quite the gold colur required. Added a punched out sentiment and my bling is a glass leaf bead.

I suggest you go and have a look at the cards made by the other DT members...they are quite stunning and then join in with your creation. Lovely prizes to be won from our sponsors.

I am going to enter a challenge or two
KaboodleDoodles challenge #133... Thank you project
The crazy challenge #127...Anything goes
Simon Says Stamp and Show...Anything goes
Delightful Sketches challenge...punches and dies
The Crafty Pad..Dies and Punches

Thanks for popping in, would love to read your comments. Will be back tomorrow and in the meantime have fun and take care.

A basket of flowers

Happy Friday friends,
Just a quick post to share a card I made for a 90th birthday. Last Sunday we were invited to a beautiful tea party to celebrate the birthday of a very gracious lady. It was a lovely afternoon with all her family and a few selected friends, so we felt very honoured. This is the card I made for her.

Cut the front out with a die, and inked the edges with walnut stain. The basket is a Marianne Design die, also coloure with wlnut stain. Flowers were a mixture of Olba punches, and small hand punches, with bling or pearl centres. The corner scroll is a Cuttlebug die and finished off with pearls. The inside I used paper from a Marianne vintage pad.

I have to dash out, but will be back later to enter this in a challenge or two..I have found the following challenges to enter:

Party Time Tuesdays #81..Garden Delights
Tammy's Scrapin Corner#23..Add some flowers
Have a wonderful Friday and enjoy the weekend. Take care and see you soon.
