Friends

Hello everybody,
I thought I would be posting this card last night, but a soccer game had me pinned to my seat, and when it was finished I just didn't feel like working at the PC, so here I am now with my next challenge card.

There is another progressive challenge going on at Gerda's Designs where you need to make a card with the image received in order to get the next one. This month we received this delightful image 'Cat and Dog friends' and this is the card I made.

I embossed the cardstock and followed the sketch from the sketch challenge at The Outlaws.
Coloured the image with Distress inkpads and cut it out with an X-cut die.
Sentiment is from a set of Joycraft - friend sentiments.

Will enter these challenges:
613 Avenue Create #78...Anything goes
Fairytale Stampers #40...Brown with desired colour
Corrosive challenge #202...Colour me happy..use favourite colouring medium
Bloggers challenge...Friendship
Crafty Catz #237...Anything goes
QKR Stampede challenge #94...Include a dog or cat
Sister Act Card challenge #63...Anything goes
Craft Creations challenge...Anything goes

I hope you all have a wonderful week. I will be back in a day or two with some DT cards, so until then take care.

Mail for Santa

Hello everyone,
I do hope you are all having a good weekend.  I decided that I would take the day off from, packing, cleaning and sorting, and just make some cards. I am running late with some challenges, but have now made them and will get them in on time,
The first one is a Christmas card, which is for the Christmas challenge at DS4J. The image we received this month is Santa's letter, and if you are not playing in the progressive challenge then you can get it HERE. If you would like to play in the challenge, then you have to request the new image from Desire and if you enter the card then you will get the new image the following month. A great way to get going with your Christmas cards...it isn't too late to start now!

Here is what I used:

Paper was from a Christmas paper pad I have had for ages. There is very little of it left.
Image - Santa's letter coloured with distress inkpads, added texture paste for the snow and some glitter over that. Ccut it out and mounted with silicone.
The diecut is from Joycrafts - Winter wishes and I added some glitter to that as well.
Sentiment is also a Joycraft one.

I did try and follow the sketch from Digi Sketch Challenge

At least my Christmas card collection is growing, but I do need to make at least 2 a month and I have been slipping the last month or so.

Will enter this in the following challenges:

Completely Christmas #18...Anything goes
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge #183...Let's get sentimental..add a sentiment
Digi Design challenge...Lots of layers
Digi Sketch Challenge...sketch/feeling blue
My time to Craft #252...Christmas in June
My Perfect Life challenge #25...Any Christmas card goes
Christmas Card  challenges #31...Anything goes
The Squirrel and The Fox #73...Christmas in July

I hope to be back later tonight with my second card, but I do need to watch a football match that will start soon in South America, and the Dutch team needs my support...LOL, so till later....

Take care, love, Ursula

A forgotten card

Hello friends,
Due to our planed move I have been doing a lot of cleaning out. I found a number of recently made cards that I haven't yet shown here on  my blog, so in the next few weeks I will be showing these in betweeen my DT cards. Time is just in such short supply now, that I am not getting many new cards made except for DT work and one class per month, so I was pleased to find a few 'new' ones.

This is a card made for my class last month, which I did enjoy doing, and wanted to use my new Craftable bow die. It worked so well on this card

Card recipe:

Paper -  Pretty Paper Bloc - French roses Marianne Design

Diecuts - Marianne design - Craftables and Creatables

Picture - Vintage sheet, not sure whose it is

Sentiment  - Joycrafts

Lace, pearls from my stash

One of the alternatives was to make your own background paper, so this was the sample I made.

Card Recipe:

I used all the same dies as above, but stamped our own paper using a
'Cover a card' stamp of Impression Obsession and Dusty Concord Distress stamppad, inking all edges with Vintage Photo.

Will be entering a few challenges:
Simon Says challenge...Anything goes
Fan-Tastic Tuesday challenge #41...Anything goes
Just Inspirational challenge...Anything goes
Whimsy Stamps challenge #72...Tic-tac-toe (Top right to bottom left), Pearls, diecut, ribbon
Ladybug Crafts challenge ...Anything goes

Sister Act Card challenge #63...Anything goes
613 Avenue Create...Anything goes with optional pink
One Stitch at a time #218...Anything goes
Scribble and Scrap challenge #21...Anything goes

Wishing you all a great weekend. I heard we are in for some cold weather this weekend and maybe a bit of rain...very unusual, so will wait and see what it will be like. I have another class tomorrow, so will possibly share some cards in the next week or two.

Take care, love Ursula

Choose 3 colours at The Outlawz colour challenge

Good afternoon friends,
Well I am rather late posting my card for the Colour challenge at The Outlawz, as this card has just been a problem. Ever had one of those...I finished the card and was rather pleased with it, but was late in posting it on the challenge site, so this morning when I went to post it, I realised that I had not read the challenge requirements fully. I had focused on the Twist and not the colours...oh dear!!! what to do...just change part of it.

This week the inspirational photo with the colours and twist were chosen by my teamie Ina.. There are 5 colours shown, but you are required to choose 3 and the twist is to 'make a scene'

This being the last week of the month we say a big thank you to Stitchy Bear for the lovely images we were able to use this month.

The DT have once again made stunning cards using some of these images, so please visit the challenge blog and see their lovely projects, then come and join in the fun.

After redoing part of the card this is what I came up with. My choice of colours  - stone grey, gentle lime and autum orange.

Paper - dark green cardstock, a hessian look DP.

Image - Flowers for Mum and you can find it HERE Coloured with Distres inks and I made a 3D image, with parts that I redid. Put pearl drops in the flower centres and a glitter pen on the petals

The background image is a DS4J image called Farm scenery and it can be found Here. This I couloured with Pan Pastels and printed the fence twice to raise it. Added some glitter to the sun's rays.

Sentiment is a peel off on a label attached with twine that I coloured with distress ink.

Will enter into the following challenges:
Bunny Zoe's Crafts...Layers
Crafting from the Heart #24...Anything goes
My Craft Creations...Anything goes
Chalk-a-lot Café challenge...Anything goes with chalk

This is my card that I made using the image Flower frame, which is for a friend who has gone through a very rough few weeks.

Paper - I used the DP from a Marianne Design paper bloc...Pretty papers...Hello sweet baby and matted onto a med. blue cardstock. Punched 2 corners.

Image - is Flower frame and you can find it HERE I printed 2 images, coloured one fully and the second only the pink flowers, cut these out and mounted them with silicone over the first image. The image was coloured with Pan Pastels and cut with a Nellie's MFD, matted onto blue cardstock.

Sentiment is from a set of Just Rite stamps.

Good morning friends,
It is the first Friday of June and it is freezing. I said that the winter was going to hit us this weekend and it has come with a vengeance. Yesterday morning at 5.30 it was 12deg and this morning it is 0. What a sudden change...we have been very lucky with the gorgeous weather...but I still don't like this sudden cold.

Anyway...there is a lovely freebie available at DS4J for the next 2 days. I haven't been able to make a card, will try for the weekend,  but here is a picture of the image you can collect. I think it is a really great one...so useful. Thanks Margy for this.
Just go to the shop, open an account if you don't have one already, and on checkout it WILL be FREE

Some of the DT have made gorgeous cards with this image and you can see them HERE.

I would suggest you hurry on over and collect your image.

Have a great weekend, and if you are in South Africa then keep warm, anywhere else enjoy the summer..if you are having one.
Take care and see you soon.
