Forever friends

Good afternoon friends,

The month is marching on and I still have to get some cards made before 28th. This is one of them.

The progressive challenge at Deedee's Digis for February had the theme Forever Friends. If you had played last month you will have received this lovely set of images and sentiments for this month.

It is so lovely when one can finish a card very quickly, and using the precoloured image 'Hugging Tigers" I was able to do just that.

I followed the sketch from Tuesday morning sketches for my card.

I embossed cardstock with a wood grain folder and sponged it with Distress ink. Matted it onto black card.

Cut out a black frame and mounted the round diecut with the precoloured image onto that.

Attached the sentiment with a twine and added 3 buttons.

Yay another project done before the deadline.

Will enter the following challenges:
Tuesday Morning Sketches #289
Deedee's Digi's...Feb progressive challenge
Clear it Out challenge...Animals..stash item ..striped paper. (Not sure if mine qualifies for striped)

New releases at Digistamps4Joy

Happy Sunday morning.
It is a lovely morning here, after a very grey and sort of rainy day yesterday. It didn't really rain, but every hour or two we had about a 2-3 minute drizzle or a few drops. Anyway it kept things a bit cooler after some days of very high temps. Today blue skies, no clouds and hopefully reasonable temps...Enough about the weather and onto cards.

Today there are some lovely new images released at Digistamps4Joy and to see the cards made by some of the DT using some of the images you can go HERE. Did you know that DS4J has a reward points system. You get $1 for every $10 spent , so come and do some shopping.

This is the card I made today using a sketch
from Freshly Made Sketches #174.

Paper - pink cardstock, spotted patterned paper,
Image - Sweet Candy, cut with a Nellie MFD, matted onto pink card using same set.
Ribbon, card candy for the corners and a candy brad with the sentiment.
It is quite a simple card today.

Colour challenge at The Outlawz

Hello blogging friends,
We are now well into the second half of February, and I do hope that our very hot weather is going to start cooling a little. Thankful at least we had some lovely rain last night, that should cool it a little. I am so ready for autumn.

This week in the Colour challenge at The Outlawz we have another of our special challenges, where you get to do a lot of the choosing. Laurian has selected this lovely inspirational photo and given the colour blue that must be used. You can choose 2 more colours  (just tell us which they are) and the twist is also your choice. How much fun is that.
We have also introduced a new feature...Colour spotlight in which we spotlight a card from the previous week. maybe something different, or it just appeals to us for some reason...so you need to come back each week if you have entered a card and see, just maybe yours has been spotted.

Our sponsor this month is Paper Nest Dolls and most of the DT have used one of the lovely girly images for their cards. Do pop in and see what they have made for inspiration.

I have made a gatefold card this week, used the colours blue, yellow and red and the twist is add butterflies.

The blue patterned paper was a freebie in a magazine some years ago. The paper on the inside with the butterflies is also quite old and is from a paper pad

The image is Butterfly friend and I coloured it with Distress inkpads and cut out with a Nellie's MFD

The butterfly border on the front is a Noor design by Joycrafts.

Sentiment is computer generated and cut with a Nellie's die.

A ribbon for closing and pearl and bling to finish.

I will enter this in some challenges:

Crafts Galore Encore...Use a stamp or digi
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge...Anything goes with patterned paper.

An 18th birthday card

Good morning friends,
I hope you all had a good weekend, doing something you really enjoyed. I would like to welcome Susan my newest follower. Lovely to have you visit here and I hope you will pop in often.

Today I would like to share a card I made for my grandson's birthday last week. He has only been playing piano for a few years and has done so well, and he enjoys his music very much.

I edged my card with Pan Pastel and then matted black cardstock. The patterned paper is from a Joy Crafts paper bloc - Dance to the music.
I tore a piece of music paper, antiqued it with Distress ink and distressed the edges.
Put a piece of card through the CB with a birthday embossing folder and inked that with Distress inks.
Cut 2 labels with a Lea'bilities  die and added peel-off numbers that I had coloured black. Tied these to some twine, wrapped round the card and attached a music note charm.
Small brad buttons to finish.

Bryan was so thrilled with his card.

Will enter it in some challenges:
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #3...Anything goes
Crafty Calendar challenge ...Anything goes
A Girl who Crafts...Anything goes
Your Scrapbook Place...Anything goes with a twist - A masculine card.

With the start of a new week I wish you a very good one. It is still very hoy here with not much rain, so trying not to do too much outside.

Take care and see you back tomorrow with a DT card. Have fun.

My Guest Designer card

Good morning all,
Last month my card was spotlighted in a challenge at Crafting by Designs and I was invited to be a guest designer for February with their Anything goes challenge.  Well this is the card I made.

A few weeks ago I bought some new Crealies create a card dies. I was browsing her and the DT blogs for inspiration and came across Boukjes blog with some lovely ideas. This is where I saw this card and decided I need to make this.

This is what I used. with a close up of the flowers

Kraft cardstock. Crealies create a card die #2 for cutting the card.

All the flowers, leaves, doily were cut from various Joy and Marianne design dies.

The flourish is also a new Crealies die.

I so enjoyed making this card and was happy with how it turned out.
I will be back later to enter it in some challenges.
