You are a star

Happy Tuesday friends and I do hope you are all doing well.
The first 6 months of the year are now just about history, and I hope they have been good for you, and now see what the rest of 2015 brings us. For me there will be some lovely exciting family times, but more about all that when it happens.

Today we have a regular colour challenge at The Outlawz. Heather our teamie has chosen the colour palette, photo  and the twist to add twine.

This is  last week of having Sweet Pea Stamps as our sponsor, and again the DT have used a variety of their stamps, and we have all enjoyed using them during the month.

I have used Rock Start girl and you can find it  HERE

The paper I have been using is all from some paper blocs that I am trying to use up, very successfully. Some now only have one or two more sheets left in them.

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads and cut out with an Spellbinders die. I added some small bead caps for the belt

Cut some stars from a Marianne die and also the label.

The sentiment was done on the computer.

Added a bow made of twine with a charm and beads.

Will enter it in the following challenges:

A Christmas tag.

Hello friends,
We have almost reached the last day of June, and I am pleased to say that I have made my two Christmas cards for the month...only just. OK the one is not a card but a tag...that also counts as I will need a lot of those

I have used a Marianne die, which makes a lovely tag, and the paper is a glossy paper I have had for some years.
The image is called Stanley from Beccy's Place I coloured it with Distress inkpads and I paper pieced the bauble. Cut it out with a smaller die from the same Marianne die set and attached it with a brad.
The sentiment was stamped onto a label from Nellie Snellen and finished off with a gold bow.

Will enter it into the following challenges:

A progressive challenge at DeeDee Designs.

Happy Sunday bloggers,
Have you realised this is the last Sunday in June? so  I am getting this card into the challenge with a few hours to spare.

Deedee's Digis has a progressive challenge running, and if you have joined you get a lovely set of images, some are coloured and also sentiments. Well worth joining.

For this month we had  the set called Diver Daniel.

For my card I used 2 of the precoloured images  ( a great time-saver) and a sentiment.

I used some paper that I made with the shaving cream technique, and thought it sort of looked like water. Matted this onto blue cardstock, and used the same paper with a Memory Box die, to cut some waves.

Added 3 dewdrops

A very simple card, but a bit of fun.

A 3D Christmas card.

Hello all my blogging friends.
I thought I better get going with the Christmas cards that I need to make for this month, as the days of June are fast coming to an end.

The challenge at The 12 Months of Christmas link up is 'Home for the holidays..vintage theme'

I decided on a 3D picture for my card, and I think it is a little bit vintage.
I am not sure where the picture came from, and also the papers I used were from my stash of bits and pieces. The text paper is the last and I think it might have been Papermania...not sure.

I added a cutout star with a holly brad. I was given a number of these lovely brads a few years ago in a swap and I have used them sparingly.

I followed the sketch fromSweet Sketch Wednesday 2

I will enter this in the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion challenge #267...Anything goes

A technique in colour at The Outlawz

Good morning blogging friends,
I do hope you have all had a great start to the week. Today the colour challenge at The Outlawz has a challenge with a bit of a difference. The challenge this week was Ina's choice. She hasn't given us any colours to work with, so you can choose your own, but the twist this week is to use a technique. Ina has decided on the shaving cream technique and if you have never done it, then you have missed out on lots of fun. If you google it, you will find a number of links, but this one is very easy to follow:
 http://stampnboomer.blogspot.com.au/2015/05/project-of-week-at-house-that-stamps.html

Once again our sponsor is Sweet Pea Stamps, and the DT have used different images a variety of images this week. Please come and see what they have to show.

I have used "Unicorn Dreams" and you can find it HERE

For my technique I used just 2 colours of Distress
 re-inkers..chipped sapphire and scattered straw.
I matted my coloured card onto a card that I coloured with Pan Pastels to match the yellow.

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads and matted onto another piece of coloured card.

The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy and I finished it off with some buttons to pick up the flowers in the image.

This is such a fun technique, so I do hope that you will try it and join us this week.

Will enter this in some challenges:
ATW challenge...Anything goes

Another card for challenge #42 at Creative Craft Cottage

Hello everyone,

Here I am again with the 2nd card for this challenge of spots or stripes at Creative Craft Cottage.

This time I am using an image from Rick St dennis called Joannie the flower child and can be found HERE

The DT have all used different images from the sponsor making some really awesome cards, so do pop over and get some inspiration.

For my card I have used a new 'Create a Card' die from Crealies. I had to do a little fix up job, as I had cut my paper incorrectly and it was the last piece I had, "American Girl"

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads and I added Pontura pearl makers for her necklace and a touch of glitter to her earrings and bangles.

The sentiment on the back is a freebie from A piece of Heart. Sharon has lovely sentiments and is always giving a new freebie, so you need to check in on her blog.

This was a fun card and will look to enter it in the following challenges:

Creative Craft Cottage #42 spots or stripes

Happy Sunday morning friends,
I do hope you are having a wonderful weekend and if you are celebrating Father's Day, as we are here in South Africa, then I hope it extra special for the men in your life. Both my Dad and Papa, my FIL have left us many years ago, but we still remember them with lots of love.

This is the first of a 2 part blog as we have 2 sponsors for this challenge.
The first one I am using is The Cutting Café and the theme this fortnight is spots or stripes.
For my card I have used the "Fun with dress forms" and you can find it HERE. This is a super file. There are cutting files and templates if you do not have a cutting machine. There are so many options to use in this set.

The DT have all created lovely projects using files from our sponsor, so please have a look at the lovely inspirational cards.

I decided to make a side step card.

The background for the card is actually preglued fabric. It comes on a paper backing.

I then used various pieces from my stash and distressed, rubbed, and generally mutilated them to create a vintage look....used distress inks to help with this.

The dress forms I cut out and inked the edges. Cut the dress from patterned polka dot paper.

The shoe is a Marianne Design die, which I inked before taking out of the die.
The sentiment is included in the file. I cut it and printed part onto the dress form and the rest onto a label.

Finished it off with some gauze, lace, a seam binding bow, coloured with distress inkpad, pearls and a beaded pin.

I will enter it in the following challenges:
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards #93...Use Pearls
Left of Centre challenges #83...add ribbon, twine, fibres
Simply Create Too #88...Old, vintage, shabby chic
Simply Papercraft challenge #7...Anything goes

Play tic-tac-toe at The Outlawz

Good morning friends and a happy day.
I guess here it is a happy day as we are having another holiday today. In South Africa it is youth day. We commemorate the uprising of the youth in Soweto in 1976, resulting in many protests across the country.

Today is another Colour challenge at The Outlawz and this week Laurian has chosen to play tic-tac-toe, using this colour grid. The twist is to use whatever is printed on the square if you use choose that row.
For my card I have chosen the diagonal row, top right to bottom left with the twist to add lace.

Our sponsor for the month is Sweet Pea Stamps, and the DT have used images from them to create lovely cards for inspiration. Do go and see for yourselves what lovely creations they have come up with.

For my card I have used a kraft cardstock base and matted yellow patterned paper.

The image is 'summer daisies flower pot' and  I coloured it with my usual distress inkpads. Cut it out with a Nellie Snellen MFD and sewed buttons onto the corners. The green cardstock I used is slightly textured.

I used lace for my twist and coloured it with distress inkpads.

Sentiment to finish.

I will enter it in the following challenges:
Crafts Galore Encore...Anything goes

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper...Anything goes
Paper Creator's Crafts 339...Anything goes

Take care and see you soon.

Spring season....reminder of challenge at DS4J

Hello bloggers,
We are now halfway into June and it is time to remind you all of the challenge at Digistamps4Joy this month. It is an anything goes challenge with a twist of "Spring Season".  If you need any inspiration, then have a look at the lovely cards made by the DT,

We would like you to use a DS4J image if you can, but it isn't a requirement. You do get a chance in the DT choice for $10 gift voucher if you use a DS4J image.

Now on to my card.

I went with making my own background paper. I have seen  Beccy use it on her cards, and as I have so many small pieces of patterned paper, this is what I decided to so. I matted it onto pink cardstock.

The image is 'daisy bucket' and you can find it HERE. I paper pieced the bucket and printed and coloured a second image of the flowers. Coloured them and raised them on the image. Added a few gems and pearls for the flower centres. Mounted it all onto a Crealies diecut.

Added to banners made from Washi tape.  I need to use this more often...don't have too much of it, but have had it for some time.

Handmade flowers with some leaves and a peel off sentiment to finish.

I followed the sketch of  Noor & Zo but then found I had actually not used any Noor design product, so won't be entering it. Will have to make another card for that.

I will enter it in the following challenges:

Ecelectic Ellapu Pink team...anything goes
Fairytale Stampers #57...Anything goes
Lacy Sunshine, Colour your world...Anything goes
Great Impressions...Anything goes
Glitter n Sparkle#141...Anything goes
That Craft Place...Anything goes

Beccy's Place Anything goes
Crafting from the Heart #64...Anything goes
Love to Scrap challenge #56...Anything goes
Stamps & Fun = Creativity...Anything goes
The Paper Girls #82...Happy birthday

Well that's all from me for today. I will be back tomorrow with another DT card, and I wish you all a great day.

Happy Tuesday everyone,
After a rather cold weekend, it is a little warmer today, but we are told that it will cool again later in the week. Whatever the weather, it is great to share another card with you all today.

Tuesdays are colour challenge days at The Outlaws and this week we have a lovely inspirational photo again.  It is one of the old favourites, where we give you a colour and you choose 2 more from the photo. You also decide what the twist will be. So a great fun challenge again this week.

We are again sponsored by Sweet Pea Stamps this week and the DT have all used one of the images.

For my card I have used yellow and lavender as my 2 colours and the twist is to use embossing. I have also used the image.. 'Bella sending you smiles' and you can find it HERE

I have embossed the yellow cardstock and matted onto lavender.

With a Nellie Snellen die I cut the trim.

The image was coloured with Distress inkpads.

Flowers with Creative Craft Cottage

Good morning friends
Happy Sunday and I do hope you are all enjoying the weekend.  It is  time for another challenge #41 at Creative Craft Cottage and I guess as it is spring in the northern hemisphere, it is a perfect time to have flowers as the theme for this challenge, and we all love flowers. You can use images or stamps with flowers, floral  paper or paper flowers, ribbon or lace flowers....any flowers, just come and join in the fun.

We are so lucky to have 2 sponsors for our challenge.
Lacy Sunshine Stamps                                and            The East Wind

The DT have made awesome cards using various images from these two sponsors, so please pop in and leave them some love.

For my first card I used Annie's tulips from Lacy Sunshine. You can find it HERE.

For a change I made a stepper card.

I used Kraft cardstock and matted paper  from a KaiserCraft paper block.

The image is coloured with Distress inkpads and cut out with a scalloped square die.

The large flower and leaves are cut from a Marianne Design die and it is finished with ribbon and a large brad that has been embossed with copper EP. The small flowers are punched.

The sentiment is a Hero arts and stamped onto a Nellie Snellen label.

The flourish on the front is a Crealies die
Pearls and some ribbon to finish

I also made a card with an image from The East Wind called Aurora fuchsia and you can find it HERE.

The paper was from an old paper pad, and I don't have the name. A pity it isn't fucshias but the roses are lovely anyway.

The image is again coloured with Distress inkpads, using the new 'abandoned coral' such a gorgeous colour. I added pearls for the flower centres in her hair. and added glitter to the lantern.

The flower is a Marianne Design die.

Sentiment is Hereo Arts.

Pearls to finish.

I will enter these in the following challenges:

Add some sparkle

Hello to all my friends,
Hope everyone is doing well this Friday morning....the weekend is only a few hours away, so that's something good.

To day I have a card for the challenge at Let's Craft and Create
#102...Add some sparkle.  I think this will be a popular one, because we all love to add sparkle. The DT have made some lovely cards, such different ideas, so lots of inspiration.

For my card I used some of the Core'dinations, whitewash range cardstock. It is plain on one side and the other is slightly textured. If you sand it the main colour shows through. I used the front of a piece to emboss, with a cuttlebug folder, sorry don't know the name, and then slightly sanded it to show the colour. Matted it onto a piece showing the back with the solid colour. I added some gems to the design.

The image is Crafty Individuals, which I have had for many years. It was one of my first rubber stamps. I just added some glitter to the flowers with gems for the centres and then added two little punched out butterflies as well. Coloured the flowers on the side lightly.

Added a ribbon with a sparkly brad.

These are the challenges I will be entering:

Colour challenge using the colours of the flag.

Good morning friends,
The first week of June.....WOW! and as it is Tuesday there is a new Colour challenge at The Outlawz.

It was my turn to choose the challenge this week and as I have previously used the flag of my own country, I decided to use one of our neighbours'.. Botswana. The colours are a little different from many of the other African countries, so I hope you will be inspired to join us this week.

As it is a new month we also have a new sponsor. Sweet Pea Stamps

I used blue cardstock and matted a patterned paper diecut onto it. The paper is from my stash...still trying to use up all the scraps, some large, some small. I used a Marianne Design die to cut the 2 papers.

Coloured the image "Abbie" with Distress Inkpads. Added glitter and pearlescent paint to the balloons. Also put some  on the 2 little hearts. Cut a rectangle and rounded the corners.

The sentiment was a freebie

Finished off with a bow, a small pearly heart and some pearls in the corners.
